Welcome to my world!

This space is a claim of the more numinous world our hearts know is here.

It is a vote for utopia, the messy and improvised kind. Dystopia is so passé.

It is a stake in the ground on behalf of children, of dancing, of listening, of courage.

I hope it sparks a mega-cascade of nano-epiphanies that scatter through the meadow of culture on the subtlest of faery spores. I hope it further fortifies the extraordinary skunksworks of subtle change agents starting with you.

What this might look like

It may include musings; obsessions; fragments of stories; grandiose pronouncements; proactive grammatical technology; megalomaniac attempts to impose order on stuff that confuses me; apologia; criticism; poetry; meditations; sketch-ups of new rituals; experiments; and other attempts to integrate, transcend, find coherence, to be of use.

It will also probably include a lot of book reviews, because when I find a book of a certain ilk then I feel a great manic urgency to tell everyone in the world immediately about it. That’ll be my “Texts for a new time” section, which might also include reviews of other inspiring texts, like films or musicals or other media.

Grandiose pronouncements

The age of co-creation. It’s here. It’s gorgeous, unavoidable, everywhere, squeaky. It’s bringing out the best in all of us. Think of the funniest thing you ever heard a three-year-old say. This age has that feeling: that glint, that surprising maturity, that mysterious quality where you want to repeat it but you can’t ever quite do it justice. Nothing I can write will land with quite the hilarity, the sacredness, of the real deal. The real deal is, finally, here, all around and within you.

We can do this. We can reconnect with the epic power generator that is the energy of our mornings, of beginnings, of the new. We can lovingly attend to the young as a devotional practice, whether or not we brought them into this world. We can practice ever broader inclusiveness, hand-in-hand with ever finer discernment. We can dance our hearts out, with and for each other, in praise and blessing, as members of joyful flourishing communities and ecosystems. We can power the tsunami of cultural change, we can rekindle terrestrial paradise within a few short generations. Thank you for joining me in whatever ways you choose.
